Turbo brunneus – turban snail – turbo snail

Hardworking algae snail that reproduces well in saltwater aquariums.

The Turbo brunneus, also known as the turban or turbo snail, grows up to 6 cm in size and has a thick, spiral-shaped shell. Since algae are its main food source, this snail is also well suited for keeping in a saltwater aquarium.

The Turbo brunneus have an operculum, a lid- or plate-like structure in front of the opening, which protects the snails from hermits and other attackers.

Introduce our snails carefully so that the animals can get used to the changed density and water chemistry.
